FUMA Baby Shower

I just got back from helping throw a baby shower for both Kerrie Bocci and Michelle Williams. Both girls live on campus (the Williams being our next door neighbor). Each had a baby boy, within a few weeks of each other. Sergio Luca Bocci was born January 31st, and Jake Michael Williams was born March 8th (or 9th). They are both sweet little boys! We invited ladies associated with Fork Union Military Academy to join us. We had a nice turn out. I'll leave you with some pics to enjoy!

(Michelle looks awesome for only having a baby 7 weeks ago!)

April 26, 2006

Of course, after having a few really nice days in a row, we were bound to have a cold one today! That's ok....I've just been LOVING this warming weather trend. All except for the pollen....!

I interviewed at the middle school on Monday. There's a chance that I might get to continue with the position I'm filling in for full-time next year. I'm hoping to hear sooner than later. It's a resource position, so I'd have a lot to learn. But, I just love the teachers I work with. Also, I'd be able to continue with 6th grade....although, a new year, a new group. I might change my mind when I meet the new kids! Just Kidding! I'm excited about the possibility.

It sounds like we are going to have a few of Brent's cadets over for dinner tonight. Spaghetti it is! It should be fun. I'll let you know how it goes.

Well, it's locker time, so I need to run!

April 21, 2006

Woo Hoo! It's Friday! Hope all is well with everyone!

We had a great Easter in Richmond. Aunt Betty and Uncle Harry came into town. We enjoyed having the time to spend with them on our break. The boys all worked on the shed project.....even Dusty tried to help by constantly running through the dirt, I'm sure to flatten it out! He had to get a bath after that...his favorite thing! This morning I had to drop him off at the vet for his last dip. I'm sure he'll be glad, more than anyone, that this is his last.

We haven't gotten back our pictures from our DC trip or from when we had a doggie play-date with the Moore's two dogs. Hopefully, I'll get those back soon.

Looks like it's going to be a rainy day today. Yesterday was SO beautiful. We did a bit more yard work. We're really spiffing our place up! :) Tonight is the big dance at for the FUMA middle schoolers. Tomorrow is a big day....Brent has morning classes (since we were off on Monday). Then, at 10:30am, it's the BIG GAME! :) The middle school faculty is playing the middle school basketball team in a game. Hope they all have a great time. I'll try to get some pics.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

April 11, 2006

It's looking like it's going to be a BEAUTIFUL day! We had a nice afternoon yesterday, too. It was so nice that we and our neighbors next door grilled out and used our new patio for having dinner. It was a lot of fun!

So, Sunday was a big day. Brent had been asked a few weeks ago to preach at Fork Union Baptist Church. It for Palm Sunday. He not only had to do the sermon, but he had to do the children's sermon AND communion...both of which he had never done before. He did a GREAT job! I'm so glad I didn't have to do it! :) He spoke about our role in the whole Easter season. Everyone was very complimentary of his good job.

Spring break is over for us here at Fluvanna Middle School...but, boy, do the kids still think they don't have to do any work! It has been hard to get them back in the working-mode. (Me, too, if I must be honest!) But, I'm glad to be back.

Hope all is well with everyone out there. Love to hear from you!

April 7, 2006

So, I'm on my last weekday of my Spring Break. Boy, is it a BEAUTIFUL day! It started out a bit rainy, but turned into an almost 80 degree, sunny Friday! We worked a bit more on a project that we started last weekend. Brent came up with the idea to make a small patio in our back yard for a table and chair set that his parents bought us. Brent, of course, did all the hard work! I went out today and bought some flowers to pot that i HOPE will survive! :) One is a hydrangea, that is only a bud as of now, but should become a beautiful red-flowerd addition by July. We'll just see! I've posted some pics below. We're going to have steak and potatoes for dinner, so I better get cookin'! Hope you're going to have a wonderful weekend, wherever you are!
