Happy Birthday to me :) Today is my 26th birthday. It's 12:15 am, and yes, I'm awake. Knowing that I do not have to go to work in the morning helps me to not feel as tired. As I type, Harry and Mrs. Miller are watching "Cheers", and everyone else (Brent, Alan, Mr. Miller, Grandma and Grandpa Miller, and Betty) are playing the 600th round of Dominoes. I gave up a while ago.
It has been a great weekend. I was a bit sad to leave everyone on Friday after work. But, it was fun to see all the family that evening. My parents, as well as Bryan and Candace, came in that evening, and we all watched the Lights of Broadway video. The next morning we all headed to Brent's graduation. It was really nice to see how many friends and family came. We all went back to the Miller's for a nice lunch afterwards. Oh, the food! We are still grazing....! My family left that afternoon. Brent and Thomas headed to see Star Wars. After shopping at Kohls with the ladies, I went back to the house and worked on laundry and such. Church was nice on Sunday, although there were few there. I think everyone was at the river. Jubilate practice was MUCH better. We sounded much better, as well as all having better attitudes. That evening Bill and Ginnie came over to watch Blazing Saddles...yeah, I didn't quite make it through. Maybe next time.
It was SO nice to sleep Monday morning. Brent headed over to the Millers, and I went to exchange items at Target. I also stopped by the mall to use one last gift certificate. I was able to find some great deals! I went back over to the Millers and after enjoying the nice warm afternoon, the ladies and I tried our luck at Foremost Salvage....unfortunately, they were not open, but we sure did do well at the Dollar Tree :) Even though we did not make it to Williamsburg like I would have liked, it was still a great day.
So, today is my birthday.....everyone has already sung to me. :) :) AND, I've already received 2 gifts! So, the Domino game is over....I'm guessing it is about time to head home. I'm not sure what the plan is for today....right now, it's sleeping!
I hope everyone enjoyed their long weekend.....enjoy my birthday! :) just kidding!! Have a great Tuesday!

LAST DAY ! ! !
Well, it's finally here. I will have to admit, it's bitter sweet for the fact that I will miss chatting with some of the people. I have already made all my rounds this morning. I started on the 7th floor by turning in my parking pass (yes, the one that I waited SO long to get!). Then, I stopped by the 6th floor to say bye to Sarah, the secretary on that floor who is always so sweet to me. I remember seeing her the first time I came in for an interview. Then, it was down to the 5th to say bye to Robbie, Chuck, and Robert, our IT guys (and to let them know to be sure to get all my personal stuff off my computer that I missed!). I made it back to the 3rd floor, stopping by Rob's cube, who is a guy down the hall who used the same wedding photographer we did. I then went over to see Emma, a wonderful and fun lady who is in a section next to ours. Unfortunately, she wasn't there. I found out that she's in the hospital (should get out today). She has contracted a staph infection. Yikes. Her body doesn't heal well, so I'd ask for your prayers for her.
My desk and cube are so bare...except for the dust...that stays! One hour to go, then it's the start of our summer of adventure!! I'm really excited about everything that's to come. I hope that I'll be able to update frequently. But, I will try to as much as I can.
I hope everyone enjoys their summer! Please email and write as much as you can. Our camp address is to the left <<<<. We'd love to get snail-mail! :) Until next time........

Last night, we had dinner at church for the first time in a long time. Betty and Harry joined us :) We watched the cut children's choir concert, and then we headed to choir. Mr. Miller convinced Betty and Harry to sing with us. Fun :) I skipped out a bit early because I had not been home all day. There was an accident on the interstate which slowed me down 20 minutes. Hopefully, since the sun is out and the rain is gone, travel will be just fine this evening.
Well, in 45 more minutes, I will have only 4 hours left to work at the SCC. We really had a fun day. Everyone took me out for lunch, and Brent was even able to join us. We ate at Richbrau. Mmm. They paid for the both of us, which I felt was extremely nice. They gave me a sweet card, a peace lily plant, and a Target gift card (that's scratch-n-sniff!!) :) It was a lot of fun. I'll admit, I am going to miss some of the people here. But, I know I can always visit. I'll miss getting to chat with Julie about wedding stuff!! It's been fun. So, I hope to make one more post from my cubical tomorrow. But, after that, I assume that I will not be able to past as frequently as I now do. (Not that you all cannot go a few days with out hearing me blab on!)
I think we are going to hang out with Betty, Harry, and the Millers tonight. We plan to go to Williamsburg on Monday. Everyone has off! (By the way, Brent got his final grades today and he will graduate with over a 3.0! CONGRATS! His hard work has paid off!......Now, it's time for HIM to give the homework!)
I hope that everyone enjoys their Thursday evening....Friday is only a night's sleep away!
Until next time.....

Everyone is on their way back to Richmond. It'll be fun to hear how the concerts went. Maybe, they'll even have some video footage. It sure has been a cold and dark day today. I went out at lunch and wished I had brought a coat to work! Tonight, I plan on having dinner at church. I haven't done that in a while. Betty and Harry are going to join us. Then, choir, I guess. Tomorrow will be my last full day at work. It just hit me today that I won't be seeing some of these people ever again....mixed emotions there. But, none the less, the light at the end of the tunnel has become quite vivid. There are so many things that are on my list of to-dos, yet I'm sure I will have done them all within a week :)
Enjoy your evening.....until tomorrow.

Nothing much new today. Everyone has left to go to Furman. So, guess it'll just be me, myself, and I for the evening. I plan to go find Brent a birthday gift and maybe stop by the softball game. It's not at the close Short Pump Field, so I might pass. I came across the funniest clips this afternoon, my favorite being a Top Ten List from the Letterman show. If you've seen Napoleon Dynamite, you'll understand....! Check it out!
Have a great evening....until tomorrow.

What a fun weekend! Friday, Brent and I ate lunch and then headed out to find gifts to give his internship committee. We kind of went in circles, but finally found what we needed. That evening, we ate dinner at PF Changs, which was actually not bad. I was worried since I don't like Chinese. But, it was a "good" Chinese....you could tell it was more real than most. After dinner, we were off to church to hear the symphony. It was really nice. Long, but nice. Brent said he'd have season tickets if he could....oh boy :) It was fun to chat with Laura. We hope to take Ginnie out bridesmaid dress shopping soon.
Saturday was busy. Brent left early for his track meet. I did a few things around the house, then at 1, went to the Rothschild's for Allison's graduation party. Adam's parents have a really nice home.....with good food inside :) We left the party around 2, Mrs. Miller had a baby shower to attend. I went to the mall to pick up a couple of things, then it was back with the Miller's again at 4pm to attend a wedding. Brent had luckily made it home in time to go with us. It was a beautiful wedding for one of Brent's friends from church. Off to the reception afterwards at Willow Oaks Country Club. It was a really nice place...with some more good food :) It was fun having Ginnie, Bill, Todd, and more people there we knew.
Yesterday, we went to church and had Jubilate practice afterwards....not such a good practice. But, I won't go into that. So, we jetted from church to go to a wedding shower for Stacy and Eric, more church friends :) It was a couple's shower, so it was fun to have more familiar faces...yet, not my favorite food...quiches : { But, lovely, none the less.
It was such a BEAUTIFUL day. I mentioned taking a walk down at Pony Pastures, but once I got home, I changed my mind. So, we decided to pack up and take more stuff to storage. SO MUCH STUFF FOR CHRISTMAS!! If you need any wrapping paper, turns out, I'm the one to call. Then, we went to Kroger and bought steaks, corn, peaches, and salad, and went to the Miller's to make them dinner. Boy, was it good!! His mom made brownies while we ate, so they were ready for us after dinner. We watched the end of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition....so good...yes, there was crying. :)
Overall, it was a really fun, yet busy weekend. But, today is a good day...the first day of my last week at work.
The schedule will be as follows:
Monday: nothing much,
Tuesday: Brent and the Millers head to Furman (left all alone) :( BUT, might hang out with Ginnie to look at wedding stuff or go to the softball game!,
Wednesday: church...wait for everyone to come home...including Betty and Harry,
Thursday: hang out with Betty and Harry,
Friday: LAST DAY AT WORK! Parents, brother, and Brent's grandparents come into town,
Saturday: Graduation! Lunch afterwards at the Millers.
WHEW! I'm going to be ready for a few days of nothingness next week! Also, so that I can enjoyably celebrate my birthday! :) :)
Hope you all are enjoying your Monday...Julie and I are doing lunch out today. Hopefully, I'll be good and not eat too badly. We'll see....! I'm going to try to eat better, but with the beach coming up, that is going to be hard! :) LATER!

It's FRIDAY! :) woo hoo!
I have to admit that yesterday I got lost coming home from work. ;) I heard as I was leaving that there was a back-up along my normal route, so I took what I thought would be an easy alternative. But, because I came into it a different way, I missed the exit I needed. Therefore, after having to pay 2 - 50 cent tolls, I came to a road that I had heard of, and been on before, yet did not know how to get home from. Luckily, I saw a sign for Pony Pastures, this area along the James River at which I used to go take pictures. So, I was able to follow those signs, finally coming to an area I recognized. After all of that, I arrived at Collegiate around the same time, if not a couple minutes earlier than normal. But, it cost me a whole dollar....and some dignity :) Note to self: always remember to keep quarters in the car....you never know when you'll need them!
I FINALLY was able to see Brent run hurdles. He did very well. There's no way I could ever run them and survive. We then went to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner. It was delicious! The Perkins joined us. They are such a fun family. I was SO full afterwards. On our way home I called Ginnie. Her mom answered saying that she bought her wedding dress! How fun! Next, it will be our turn for bridesmaid dresses. I wish I could have gone again. But, I was glad we had fun at dinner :)
As I know everyone has been counting down along with me...you already know that today is the ONE WEEK mark of remaining work days! I'm so afraid I will have forgotten to do something and have to come back to fix it. Let's hope that doesn't happen!
Tonight, we and a few other young adults from church are going to the symphony and PF Changs with the Boddys. It should be a lot of fun. Brent has the state track meet on Saturday. It's downtown. (Benefits of living in the state capital!) The Millers and I are going to stop by Allison's graduation party and then head to the Mayo's wedding. Brent plans to meet us there. Sunday should be pretty normal. I know we have our Jubilate practice since we have to sing the following Sunday. Brent is thinking about going to Furman on Tuesday with his mom to see a concert of Alan's. Betty and Harry will be there, too, then they will all be back in Richmond on Wednesday. I wish I could go, but maybe we'll catch some of his many concerts next year.
It's been raining here all night and still looks yucky outside, but it's good to have a nice cleansing every once and a while. Enjoy your weeked!!!

Happy Birthday, Mrs. Miller!
So, I just finished sticking on over 350 address labels for a secretary upstairs. I have a feeling there are more where that came from. I enjoy that kind of work, though. Guess I'm just a simple kind of gal, sometimes. :)
We have plans to go to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner for Mrs. Miller's 29th birthday ;) Tomorrow, we've been invited to dinner at P.F. Changs and an evening at the symphony. It should be a nice change for us.
I got to see Brent do the high-jump yesterday. He jumped around 6.2 feet....on his own. No pole or anything. That just amazes me! Now, they've told me each day that there will be hurdles, so they better be right today!
Friday is just a day away!!!

Nothing much going on today. It's been pretty quiet, aside from getting the engagement story scoop from Julie. It's fun getting to look at wedding stuff again. Crazy that all of that planning was going on a year ago!
Last night, I sat for the DeWitts. Poor Caroline was teething. She wasn't extremely happy. Plus, they just found out that she's allergic to milk, eggs, and nuts. So, the diet change hasn't made her the happiest camper. Other than that, it was a good evening.
Tonight, we plan to have an actual meal at home! Fancy that! Cooking at home...a real meal. Wonder if I can do it! We plan to have lemon-pepper chicken. Yum... Then, we might check out the boys softball game at 8pm. Tomorrow is the dentist. Better really brush-up!!
Man, 6 full and 2 half days to go!!! :) :) Enjoy your Tuesday evening!

Happy Birthday, Julie :)
Well, we had a nice weekend. Friday, Brent and I went to lunch at Palani Drive over in the Libbie-Grove area. I had a smoothie! :) That evening, I went to the youth mission trip auction, while Brent headed to his first basketball game at Cool Springs Baptist. The auction was fun. It was a bit disappointing, though, because not many people showed. There were some really neat items. I didn't win anything, but I think someone won the personalized notecards I gave. I'll have to find out who so that I can start working on them. Brent's picture was going for a good amount the last I checked, too.
I skipped out before the auction was over to make it to Brent's second game. They won! But, unfortunately, the season is over (whew!.... no more driving to Mechanicsville!) :) Saturday, Brent left early to go to the track meet at Fork Union. I decided to head out around 11am and make it that way myself. I stopped by the meet and then headed out to explore the area. Yeah, well, that didn't take long :) There isn't much out there, but I did realize the drive back into Richmond didn't seem long at all. So, I hope that I can plan a visit to Richmond once a week, or once every other week. I did find the Family Dollar in the area, which was like finding a Target! It will be my saving grace! :)
I took Brent to the Greywolf Grill when he got back home....I had a coupon! Then, after filling ourselves to the brim, we used some movie passes he had received to see 'Kicking and Screaming'. It was funny. Maybe, I was just in that sort of mood. We didn't get home till almost 11:30. Sunday morning, I had to work on getting the last few items for the luncheon we were having at church for the returning college kids. We had BBQ! yummm! I basically skipped all of church to prepare everything. It was a pleasant morning, so I sat out on the bench under the walkway of the Education Building. It was so quiet and peaceful. Gave me a glimpse of what camp will be like.....with more bugs! I'm getting excited about it, though.
We went home after the luncheon and watched the Lights of Broadway video. Then, headed back to church for the youth music evening. The middle and high school bells and choirs perfomed. It was good. Brent had to stop his middle schoolers during their bell song and start them over...there was no way they were going to get back on track on their own! It was funny. He made a comment to make them feel better, telling them how Mr. Miller has done it to them before, too.
This week isn't as eventful, that I know of. Tonight, I babysit for the DeWitts, and Wednesday is the dentist. I do hope to catch on Wednesday this funny track thing at Collegiate. Today, tomorrow, and Wednesday, the coaches are going to run their own track meet against one another. I hope to see Brent in the hurdles or one of his best events. I think I'll only be able to catch a little bit of the event on Wednesday. I'm going to ask his mom to tape it :)
It's very quiet here today. There are only 4 of us and Weldon. Julie will be back tomorrow, so I hope to hear more of her engagement story! :) Hope everyone has a great Monday!

It's Friday the 13th....that must be why it's raining and cloudy. Oh well. Last night I went to Panara with Mrs. Miller for dinner. Brent did not get home until 9:30 or so. "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" was on tv...so funny!
Today was Kathy's last day. She just left. Only 2 weeks to go for my farewell! Brent and I are having lunch at a cafe off of Libbie and Grove. The youth mission trip auction is tonight at 6pm. Brent has two b-ball games, one at 7 and the other at 9pm. I hoped to go out and see a movie, but it doesn't look like that will work. Maybe tomorrow. The new Will Ferrell movie, "Kicking and Screaming" looks funny. Brent has a track meet at Fork Union tomorrow. I plan to drive up and see some of the meet, then go explore the area. The day is supposed to be beautiful and warm. I need to start learning the area.

What a fun night I had! After work, I went by church to drop off two items that Brent and I are donating for the Youth mission trip auction. Ginnie and her mom picked me up at home, and then we drove to pick up Laura. Ginnie had her Wrangler top down, so it was SO fun to be back in a Jeep again during warm weather! We grabbed dinner at Chick-fil-a (Bill joined us), then went across the street to David's Bridal. We stayed for almost 2 hours. Ginnie looked beautiful in the dresses she tried on. It will be a tough decision to make. I know my favorite, though! :) I'd put up pictures, but you never know who might see ;)
We didn't get home till around 9:30 or so. I went straight to bed. Brent comes home tonight. He called yesterday, but could only talk briefly. I might go grab dinner with the Millers and then stop by VBS craft night to help out as much as I can. I wish I could help with Bible school. Maybe I'll be able to come in and visit. There's always next year, depending on how well I handle the 6 weeks at camp!! :) We'll just have to wait and see........!
Yet another beautiful day outside. Tomorrow will be a bit cooler. We are taking our co-worker, Kathy, out to lunch today. Her last day is tomorrow. That is the 2 week mark for my last day! (*collective cheer!*)
Enjoy the beautiful day.....just keep reminding yourself....."tomorrow is friday, tomorrow is friday..."!

So, I thought I'd take a break from cleaning my cube out to write. I have accumulated so mauch junk during the past 4 years. Luckily, I've found more items to send to the yard sale pile at home. I'm going to take a box of stuff home today, then gather the rest over the next 2 weeks.
Brent called yesterday, but all I could hear was static. I hope he's doing well. I'm sure he's taking many great pictures. Last night, I babysat for the Colemans. Their planned babysitter cancelled that morning, so I flew in to save the day :) just kidding. It was only for a couple of hours while they had a quiet evening out for dinner. It is always fun to spend time with the Colemans.
Tonight, Ginnie, Laura, and I plan to go wedding shopping. Ginnie went yesterday with her mom, so maybe she has a few dresses in mind! It'll be fun to be on the "other side" of the wedding process! :)
The morning is not going by too quickly, so who knows, I might be back later to post again. Enjoy your day!

CONGRATULATIONS,
I found out yesterday that my friend from work and her boyfriend were engaged over the weekend. They had taken a trip to Charleston, and he asked her there....see, Charleston is the BEST! :) They're a great couple, and I wish them well.
It's a beautiful day outside. I wish I could be out in it playing! Last night, I bought the coolest clip-on sunglasses at Ukrops (if there is anyway clip-ons can be cool). I've been trying to wear my regular glasses more 1. to stretch out my supply of contacts, and 2. to let my eyes breathe and rest. It's just been a pain to drive with them. So, the clips fixed that problem...thanks to Mrs. Miller. :) I then went home, did dishes, 2 loads of laundry, packed up more dvds and videos, took a bath, and watched some tv. Nice night. The boys ahve a softball game tonight, but I need to see if Ginnie and Laura want to go out tonight or tomorrow night to look at dresses.
Pray that Brent is having fun on his retreat, and keeping safe. Enjoy the beautiful day, and have a great afternoon!!

The Lights of Broadway is over....it's sad, but I'm not complaining about having time back! I've posted some pictures. Sometime, we'll show you the video. It was a lot of fun! Brent leaves today for his school retreat. He'll be back Thursday. Ginnie, Laura, and I hope to go wedding shopping one day this week! Well, enjoy the picture show.......

05-05-05.......It's one of those days. I heard a lady on the radio this morning who'll be getting married today...at 5:05pm. Some people are so silly! :)
Man, this has been a tiring week! Last night, we had yet another practice at church for the Dinner Theatre that is tomorrow and Saturday. Luckily, I haven't had to stay nearly as long as Brent. He helped his dad out with more lighting issues and therefore, didn't get home until after 12am, he said. Of course, I was long gone by then! The bad thing about how much time he's been spending at church is that he has to quickly finish papers he has due for school. So, today, he's tired, yet has to finish a 20 page paper by 8am tomorrow....with a track practice this afternoon and the big dress rehearsal tonight. Poor guy. I wish I could help him more. He leaves on Monday for his retreat. Then, all will be finised!
It's a bit chilly out today. Just when you think the warm weather is coming to stay. It's supposed to be in the low 60s, but hit 80 by Sunday. Come on warm weather.....you can do it!!!
Only 16 more work days to go......(only 21 calendar days!) YES!!!!!!!! Man, I really wish more of you had a journal!! I'd love to see how everyone is doing!! Come on, you can do it!!!!!!

Yet, again, I've slacked on writing. I'm sorry :) It's been a busy few days.
Friday, Brent and I decided to rent a storage unit near our current home. Even though it will be costing us money, it will be much easier to access. We will be able to have a lot more space at FUMA, knowing we can run up the road and get what we need. A funny thing happened on our way home. A guy I went to high school with is walking from North Carolina to San Fransisco for Cancer research awareness. I knew he was coming through the area, but we just happened to pass him walking down Patterson Avenue. So, Brent convinced me to stop and we chatted with him for a minute. It was so random to have seen him. Check out his site at http://walkaboutamerica.com. That night, I sat for the DeWitts. Sorry, no pictures. They were good. Brent stayed home to work on one of his papers due this week.
Saturday, Brent left early for the track meet in Charlottesville. I made my way to the Coleman's by 10am. They decided to go to Virginia Beach instead of camping. Mrs. Coleman had just gotten over strep, so they didn't want to change staying out in the rain. I took Clay and Reid to the playground at Collegiate, then to Burger King for lunch. Clay played his little heart out with the other kids at the play area in Burger King. Reid just kind of wandered around looking up and waving at Clay. Then, it was home for Reid's nap. I made cupcakes while Clay watched Scooby Doo. Dinner was hotdogs and maccaroni and cheese. Bathtime, then off to bed. Brent made it back around 7:30. The boys were up by 7am. Brent had to sing a duet with his dad in the early service, so I stayed with the boys until he got back. I got ready, and it was off to Sunday School. I did not sleep well that night because of my allergies. But, I started feeling better at church. The people who saw us with the boys either looked at us like they didn't know we had kids, or they looked at us with eyes that had the hidden agenda of asking us to sit for them. It was fun, though. After church, we headed home. The Colemans were back, so the boys were happy to see them. But, when Clay realized that we were leaving, he ran back to his room and started crying. It was kind of sweet to know he wanted us to stay. But, I was beat.
It was off to lunch with the Millers at Arbys. Then, after purchasing a lock for the storage unit, we headed back to the house to start finding the stuff to store. It was a refreshing time, seeing more and more space relieved in our place. We still have plenty of space left at the unit, so I hope to store more in order to live more comfortably at Fork Union. I was beat at the end of the day.
Yesterday morning, I woke up with a sore throat and not feeling well. Because Mrs. Coleman had just gotten over strep, I was worried I had gotten something from staying at the house. So, I went to the doctor. The strep test came back negative. She said it was probably just allergies. She gave me a list of things to get from the pharmacy. So, I bought them, went home and slept for 3 hours after taking everything. It felt good. I didn't really get out of bed the rest of the day. I missed the choir practice at church, but we have one every night this week, so I figured I'd be fine. I slept in an extra couple of hours before coming in today. I figure I'm going to loose this sick leave if I don't use it now! :)
So, it's time to finish my lunch and then make it through the rest of the day. Hope everyone is enjoying their Tuesday.
